Ethiopia under preparation for London 2012 Olympic Games

The London 2012 Olympic Games significant preparation chapter has started

For the sake of getting efficient result during Ethiopia’s participation in London 2012 Olympic Games ,EOC which has been giving different capacity building courses to sports persons, coaches and other experts has got into the higher preparation level by organizing three committees which comprise different national representatives. Concerning the preparation of Ethiopia in London 2012 Olympic Games, EOC held press conference in Hilton Addis Hotel. And Mr. Berahne Kidanemariam who is the president of EOC stated during this press conference that EOC has planned to raise up to thirty million birr to cover the costs of the delegation which will represent Ethiopia there. The fund is expected to be raised from governmental and non governmontal organizations and private investors. During the press conference the president of EOC called for all parties to the success of the delegation of Ethiopia in that game.

On the other hand, the Federal Sport Commission Commissioner, Abdissa Yadeta, gave a speech during the press conference. He said that currently both the developed and developing nations are increasing their participation in the sport activities and the technological and developmental status of the developed nations shall make London 2013 Olympic Games default as the economical capacity has its own impact in developing winning capacity.

The Commissioner also stated that many athletes are coming out of track competition and they are getting into marathon and road race which is making the London 2012 Olympic Games more challenging. Mr. Abdissa also reminded both the athletes, coaches, sport organizations and all the concerned bodies are expected to work hard to repeat Ethiopia’s winning history be unchallenged in London 2012 Olympic Games too.
